A well taken care of hen.... is easy to spot!


The poultry is housed in covered in cleaned and maintained barns and runs. Heated lamps take the chill off on cold fall and winter nights. Many shaded areas for comfort away from Texas' hot summers. The hens have covered nest areas, roosting areas and fresh air in the open pens. Our extended runs are climate controlled year around. Our happy hens diet consists of up to 90% fresh no pesticide and all organic grasses to graze on, bugs and healthy natural grains to eat in their daily diet. Chickens deserve quality care. We avoid most medications and instead use "Organic Probiotics" for the best chickens health naturally.

Blue Star Ranch chickens are happy and healthy and ready to go home. Most cases it can take a laying hen a few days to get settled..... but you can start getting eggs the very next day.
Standard Breeds in the pen year around are: Barred Rock, White Leghorn, Rhode Island Red, Buff Oprington, Production Red, Red Star, Black Star, Gold Star,(Sexlinked) Black Australorp,White Rock, Sometimes: Brahamas (light buff or dark) Cochins and Wyandottes most colors
Dark/Tinted/Rare  include; Easter Egger, Aracona, Necked Neck Turkins, Marins, Barnvelders, Speckled Sussex and Welsummers
